Mentor

Overview: A Mentor is a Kois Center Graduate who displays a thorough & working knowledge of the Kois Center concepts & methods. There is an application process and exam for becoming a Mentor, and a set of criteria for maintaining Mentor membership. Mentors may choose to resign at any time and resume Graduate level status. However, if a Mentor steps into Graduate status, to reinstate the Mentor membership they will need to participate in the Mentor Exam.

Criteria for becoming a Mentor:
  • Kois Center Graduate
  • Mentor Exam
  • Mentor Inauguration Ceremony will take place during the Annual Kois Center Symposium
Criteria for maintaining Mentor Membership:
  • Mentors who joined the Mentor program prior to 2006 must complete the Mentor Exam prior to 2011 to maintain their Mentor Membership. Those who choose to not complete the exam will return to Graduate Status on Jan 1, 2012
  • Attend the Annual Kois Center Symposium at least 3 out of every 5 years
Benefits of Mentor Membership
  • Opportunity to attend the Annual Kois Center Symposium
  • Opportunity to mentor courses I - VIII (first-come first-serve basis) at no charge
Criteria to be a course Mentor:
    • Must attend the Annual Kois Center Symposium the previous year (i.e.: attendance at the 2005 Kois Symposium gives the eligibility to Mentor a course in 2006)
    • Specific Mentor responsibilities will be established for each course. Before a Mentor enrolls in the course, he/she must meet the criteria and accept the roles and responsibilities for mentoring that particular course (for example: to Mentor Occlusion I you must have a working knowledge of the Kois Deprogrammer and Dentofacial Analyzer). Specific criteria for each course are under development and will take effect in 2007.

*Note: A Mentor does not receive benefits of a Graduate in addition to Mentor Benefits
