Functional Occlusion II: Complex Restorative Management
Prerequisie Required:
- Course II - Functional Occlusion I
This course is designed to implement the philosophy outlined in Course II. This involves the three-dimensional case management process. This three-dimensional case management is absolutely essential when making vertical and horizontal changes to the system. Participants will be able to manage any restorative challenges and be confident they can provide the laboratory with the necessary records to restore the entire masticatory system. This includes partially and fully edentulous patients.
Course Objectives
- Obtain a greater understanding of when tooth position vs. muscle position vs. condylar position should be used to establish the occlusal starting point for a restorative case
- Learn how the horizontal and vertical components of occlusion can be combined with dentofacial parameters to optimize function and esthetics
- Learn sequencing systems that provide the restorative dentist with a systematic approach to complex cases and full-mouth rehabilitations.
This course provides 27 continuing education credit hours and includes lecture, demonstration, case presentation and discussion.
