Spouse/Guest Program

The 2013 Symposium is almost here bringing with it another exciting Spouse /Guest weekend extravaganza. As usual the program includes sightseeing, mouth-watering food, drink and, of course, fabulous company. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you again and to meeting those of you who are new to the program. I hope you are as excited as I am!

Program Details

Check-In: Wed., July 17th: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
                Thur., July 18th: 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Meeting Location: Grand Hyatt Seattle, Discovery Room (Lobby Level)

Program Fee: $500.00 (includes activities, transportation, lunch and snacks for all three days).
Please note: Participants can register for daily activities individually but there is a $75 savings if you participate in the full three-day program.

What to Pack: Comfortable shoes for walking, sunglasses, hat and summer attire.

Extras: Upon check-in participants will receive a custom goodie bag.

Daily Activities

Day 1 – Thursday, July 18

Chihuly Garden & Glass Exhibit & Seattle Sip n’ Bites Culinary Tour

Experience Seattle’s unique art and culinary scene first hand with a guided tour of the Chihuly Garden & Glass Exhibit & Seattle Sip n’ Bites Culinary Tour. Our day will begin at Seattle Center, where we will visit the Chihuly Garden & Glass Exhibit. This memorable tour will provide a look at the inspiration and influences that inform the career of artist Dale Chihuly. Chihuly Garden and Glass includes an Exhibition Hall, Centerpiece Glasshouse and a lush Garden, offering visitors a comprehensive look at Chihuly’s significant series of work.

Next, we will begin our Sip n’ Bites Culinary Tour featuring appetizers, craft cocktails and Northwest wine prepared just for us at five of Seattle’s most popular restaurants and hot spots! Along the way, we will cut loose, mix n’ mingle, and learn more about Seattle’s progressive culinary history.

Day 2 – Friday, July 19

Creative Retreat - Today is All About You!

Relax and recharge with a day filled with pampering, creativity, food and fun! We will prearrange a selection of private spa services for you to choose from including; manicures, neck or shoulder massages, mini facials and brow waxes. Following our treatments, we will learn how to create our own custom perfume. Experiment with the art of crafting a scent that is uniquely your own. The day will conclude with a fabulous catered lunch and time to enjoy listening to the Scientific Program motivational speaker Dave Logan’s presentation on “Tribal Leadership” if you choose.

Day 3 – Saturday, July 20

Cruise Aboard Excellence & “Emergency Entertaining” Cooking Tips

Enjoy a beautiful Seattle summer day with a cruise aboard Excellence. This annual outing on the water will include a scenic tour of Elliott Bay and the famous Ballard Locks. A few of our international guests will be putting together innovative cooking demonstrations that highlight ways to impress even the pickiest house guest with limited time and ingredients. They will show us how to stock our kitchen with simple ingredients needed to create creative last minute meals and appetizers. As always, fun, food, cocktails and community will be provided throughout the day.
